AYURVEDA

Ayurveda (a Sanskrit word that means "science of life" or "knowledge of life") is one of the world's oldest whole-body healing systems. It was developed more than 5,000 years ago in India. Ayurveda is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, spirit, and environment. The main goal of ayurvedic medicine is to promote good health and prevent, not fight, disease.

In Ayurveda a person is made of five basic elements found in the universe: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These combine in the human body to form three life forces, or energies, called doshas. They control how your body works. They are vata dosha (space and air); pitta dosha (fire and water); and kapha dosha (water and earth).

MARMA-POINT MASSAGE (MARMA ABHYANGA)

An ancient therapy combining pressure to specific marma (vital) points all over the body and yogic stretches of all joints. The massage manipulates healthy flow of energy through the body’s junctions and nadis (pathways and channels), and delivery is personalised according to your needs. Tailor made massage oil depending on your Dosha Type - decided during consultation.

We can also change the style of massage based on your Dosha.

  • Satvic Style - Relaxing, smooth, long slowing techniques and touch not too deep more light to medium, great for calming the mind. 'This touch is more about the flow, we will work with deep breathing techniques. It's not designed to work out any intense kinks, it's designed just to support calming and harmonizing of the nervous system.’

  • Rajasic Style - A Rajasic touch is going to be a little deeper. Working deeper in order to work out some adhesions that might be in the body AKA "knots", and to support that release of tension. Ayurvedic massage offers a more Rajasic touch to stimulate letting go of any holding patterns in the body, stiffness, aches and tensions. Its a great energisier for sluggish systems.

  • Tamasic touch - This is deeper, and it's a little bit slower, and it's meant to move any stagnation. But unlike a Rajasic touch, Tamasic touch is going to be slow and steady. Tamasic touch moves stagnant energy, releases tension and calms the mind and body.

HOT HERBAL COMPRESS MASSAGE (PINDA SWEDA)

Therapeutic Ayurvedic herbal powders are crushed in a traditional pestle and mortar and tied into a muslin cloth which forms the medium for this treatment, known in India as a bolus. After warming, oil is applied to the body using the bolus and an Ayurvedic technique known as pummelling. Extremely nourishing, strengthening and rejuvenating, this treatment is great for sports enthusiasts as it addresses problems relating to weak joints and sore muscles.

HOLISTIC GLOW FACIAL (SOUNDARYAM VARDHINI)

Harnessing the power of Ayurvedic natural products, made from wild-grown medicinal herbs, this is a facial that goes beyond the norm. It starts by cleansing the skin, following this, an Ayurvedic facial massage is carried out to boost energy flow. A soft face scrub, formulated with powerful ingredients kutki and fitkari, is applied while a soothing head massage whisks stresses away. Next, a face mask of neem and sandalwood is left on to work its magic, while a foot and leg massage is provided to ease tired muscles. To finish, a moisturiser is massaged in using circular motions over marma points, leaving your skin fresh and revitalised.

HOT HERBAL COMPRESS DETOX FACIAL (SHILAJITA MIMIYO)

A traditional Ayurvedic facial using soft bundles filled with herbs and carefully selected Ayurvedic products. By stimulating vital (marma) points, it helps reduce facial tension, tighten and tone the skin and leave a bright and nourished complexion. It targets the signs of ageing – combating fine lines and wrinkles – while encouraging super hydrated skin.

SHIRODHARA HOT OIL HEAD MASSAGE
Warm blended oil is gently and carefully poured in a slow, rhythmic movement over the forehead marma (vital) point, which is also commonly referred to as the third eye. This profoundly relaxing treatment works to effectively switch off a chattering mind and induce a state of deep rest, ultimately leading to a renewed sense of energy and calm that distinctly borders on the experience of meditation. Shirodhara not only relaxes the mind but also plays a crucial role in helping to eliminate mental toxins (ama), providing a purifying effect while balancing your doshas in the process. Additionally, it stimulates the vital points located on your head, which can significantly help boost blood circulation. The Shirodhara massage applied to the head allows the soothing oil to infuse deeply into the scalp, imparting a wonderfully comforting sensation that further permeates into the internal peripheral nerves of the forehead, enhancing the overall experience.
